Missionary Information:
Tony and Katie Thompson and their three children Lincoln (age 7), Jackson (age 5), and baby McKinley are missionaries to Eastern Africa currently living in rural Kenya. Tony and Katie followed the Lords call to missions in 2021. Tony left his position as the Director of Facilities and licensed minister at Water of Life. And, Kate ended a 15 year career working as a nurse and Pediatric Nurse Practitioner at Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital.
The Thompsons have recently been asked by the United Pentecostal Evangelistic Crusades Church to become the leadership of a clinic in the village of Chebaiywa, Kenya. This clinic services the surrounding area which inhabits approximately 5,000 people. It currently has physician and nursing services, labor and delivery, laboratory testing, optometry, and a full pharmacy.
The mission of the UPEC health center is to bring the light of Christ to the village of Chebaiywa through quality health care enveloped by the gospel. Some of the physical goals for the year of 2023 include: refurbishing the 22 year old clinic building, updating equipment, training and equipping the medical staff, hiring a dentist, and building a stand alone kitchen and outdoor eating area (where impoverished children can be fed on a daily basis). Our heart is to walk in the way of Psalm 127 which says “Unless the LORD builds the house, They labor in vain who build it; Unless the LORD guards the city, The watchman stays awake in vain”.
