Missionary Information:

Joni has been serving the Lord with Operation Mobilization (OM) for over 39 years. She came to faith in 1970 through the ministry of Youth For Christ and was actively involved in evangelism, discipleship, and church planting before moving overseas in 1978 with her husband, Norm, and their first child. Joni and Norm were married in 1973 and were part of the founding group of their sending church, Life Bible Fellowship Church in Upland, California.

Together, they have lived, ministered, and traveled in over 30 nations. Their ministry has included leading teams, founding and managing a missionary base for North Africa, and serving as country and field leaders within OM.

Joni has also served locally by directing a community food warehouse ministry with Water of Life Community Church and working as an EMT ambulance driver. With TOEFL certification, she taught English as a Foreign Language in the Middle East while also providing member care for fellow workers. She is a mother of four children—many of whom were born and raised in Muslim-majority countries—and enjoys spending time with her ten grandchildren across the United States.

Currently, Joni mobilizes, trains, and coaches followers of Jesus to “get out there” among the least reached. She speaks at churches, conferences, and other gatherings, sharing her heart for missions, intercultural ministry, the Muslim world, global opportunities, member care, and raising families in cross-cultural contexts. While she occasionally engages in outreach among refugees, her primary focus is equipping and connecting others to serve effectively in those contexts.

Joni also serves in leadership with Perspectives, a ministry of Frontier Ventures, helping equip believers for meaningful participation in God’s global mission. She and her husband now live in Nashville, where they continue to invest in mobilizing and mentoring others for cross-cultural ministry.

• Open doors to connect, equip, and send more laborers to gospel-poor regions
• Sensitivity to the Holy Spirit and boldness as she encourages and mobilizes others into ministry

• Continued spiritual renewal—to be filled and overflowing as a life-giver to others
