Agua de Vida Orphanage (ADV) located in Ciudad Morelos, 25 minutes south of Yuma, Arizona. ADV is both a church and a safe, secure and loving home for 20+ children who have sought refuge due to less fortunate circumstances. Mario and Veronica Santos are the host parents at the orphanage and their mission is to provide an atmosphere that builds a child’s faith in God and grows them in Godly character. Water of Life teams serve the orphanage by performing children’s activities and ministries that include Bible stories, dramas and games. Teams may also help with ongoing construction or work projects to support on-site staff. Mario and Veronica have a heart for the surrounding community so our teams often assist with neighborhood relief projects, evangelism and community outreaches. The Santos’ also run a church and our teams sometimes stay to help run various parts of their church services assisting with children’s ministry, worship or preaching.
Door of Faith Orphanage (DOFO), is located in La Mision (halfway between Rosarito and Ensenada) and is just 1 hour south of the San Diego/Tijuana border. DOFO has served orphan children and the surrounding community for over 50 years! They provide a loving home to over 100 children and are one of the largest orphanages in Baja California. In addition to caring for children, they facilitate building houses for families in need, serve other orphanages and partner with other local ministries to do evangelism and community outreach. Teams who visit DOFO may participate in a number of activities including those listed above and also children’s ministry, helping cook meals and small work projects on-site. Our teams often travel outside of the orphanage to partner with other nearby ministries as needs arise.
Marriage/Family Ministry and Youth Camp
Water of Life teams partner with New Life Fellowship Church (NLF) in Cambodia. Although the country is only 2-3% Christian, it is one of the most receptive nations to Christianity. Under the leadership of Pastor Samdy and his wife Navy, New Life has a vision to reach all of Cambodia for Jesus by planting 500 churches across their 25 provinces (states).
When our teams serve with NFL in the capital city of Phnom Penh they help teach English, share in dorms housing people who moved to the city from rural villages as well as visit other ministries overseen by New Life. The Activate youth team runs a youth camp for New Life Christian School every summer full of teaching, worship, relationship building and lots of fun!
Evangelism & sharing your faith with Muslims
Our ministry partner is Initiative Ministry (IM) and their goal is to establish new believers who are choosing to leave a major religion for a relationship with the Messiah. They help establish new house churches and equip believers how to reach others. They are severely persecuted despite being faithful to the call and ministry that God has given them.
Our work with IM is to stand next to them, encourage locals to share their faith and share about Jesus in a way that will not hinder their existing ministry. Much of the ministry will be in the “cooler” evenings when people are out of their homes and want to “hang out” with others. There are endless opportunities to talk about Jesus in 1-on-1 conversations with new friends you meet.
Evangelism, house visits, encouragement of local believers
Ethiopia- e3 Partners Stands for Equip, Evangelize and Establish.
e3 works to make the local church accessible to every person, everywhere. Through relationships with indigenous leaders, we plant churches locally and globally using a variety of methods including training, short-term trips, long-term missionaries, local evangelism, media and more. So, whatever gifts and resources God’s blessed you with, let’s work together to expand the Kingdom across the whole earth!
“The earth will be covered with the knowledge of the glory of God as the waters cover the sea.” — Habakkuk 2:14
e3, reaches the people who have never heard the Gospel once in their lives. One of their emphasis has been to go hut to hut in small villages in the Oromo area-who are predominantly Muslims. The people are extremely hospitable and quickly allow you to enter their homes to talk and allow you to explain why you have come.
e3 has been engaged for 12 years in planting churches among the various tribes of Ethiopia. We work hand in hand with indigenous believers who have been trained by local Ethiopians in presenting a relevant message to whatever people we find. They have disciplers and church planters go with Water of Life teams from one location to the next.
Children’s ministry and work projects
Our teams will partner with Mission of Grace, a non-denominational, Christ-centered organization that seeks to meet the needs of Haitians through love and compassion. Established in 2010 by Ms. Lynn, their intention is to bring light to a dark and hopeless society through five ministries: an orphanage, school, church, elderly home, and a medical clinic. The staff at Mission of Grace has a heart to love and care for those who are the most vulnerable and are intentional about sharing Christ’s love with them.
India has a gigantic population of huge cities, a vast number of villages and incredible opportunities to encourage those who don’t have much materially and lack social status. Our partner in Northern India, NT, ministers among those poverty stricken in a very large city. They have been faithfully laboring in India for decades through their grandparents, themselves and their grandchildren to touch some of the most-needy at every level. They share Jesus and other life changing information to transform hearts, economic situations, social lives as well as teach many how to read and write.
Our team will partner with NT and their leaders and translators in community development activities designed to attract people looking to improve their life while we also build relationships and discern opportunities to share about Jesus.
Evangelism and discipleship with ELI
Team 1 will serve with Joysprings Educational Centre. Joysprings is called to serve the 2+ million people in the Kibera Slum, the largest slum in Africa. Pastor Charles and Rose Wanyama are the Founders and Directors of Joysprings. Their focus is to bring educational and spiritual growth to their students and community. Our teams will come alongside the school and church as we minister to the children, youth and staff. This team specifically will help run a multi-day youth camp (like a VBS) and do ministry with Joysprings Church in and around Joysprings.
Team 2 This team will partner with Cornerstone Faith Assembly. This ministry has planted churches all over Kenya since 1998 under the leadership of Dr. Francis Kamau, Senior Pastor and presiding Bishop of over 60 churches and ministries. The ministry operates a kindergarten and church in the Nguirubi Valley where our teams serve. Our teams seek to make a spiritual impact through community outreaches, youth camps or children’s ministry. This team plans to help run a youth camp for the next generation of leaders of Cornerstone’s church network. Activities will include teaching, smaller group discussions and an outreach component inside of Kenya.
Team 3 will serve with Empowering Lives International (ELI). ELI is making a difference at their training centeres among the needy and lost in Western Kenya. At the Kipkaren Training Center they train locals through a sustainable agriculture program, run an orphanage, operate a Christian school and help recovering alcoholics. Their objective is to empower the lives of people in Kenya spiritually adn practically. Our team partners with local pastors and ELI leaders to lead a youth camp for 300+ young people including large group teaching, smaller break out groups, leading fun activities and games and building relationships with the youth who are so excited to be there.
Evangelism and refugee outreach
Our team will partner with Youth for Christ (YEC), Lebanon to minister to youth in downtown Beirut and to those in the Bekaa Valley in refugee camps. Ministry opportunities may include:
Children’s ministry, community outreach and work projects
Fuente de Vida (Spring of Life) Church is a thriving community of believers in Guadalajara, Mexico, lead by Pastors Oscar and Gustavo. The metropolitan area of Guadalajara is the second largest city in Mexico with almost five million people. Teams will partner with Fuente de Vida in some of their many existing ministries including youth ministry, evangelism, local outreach, women’s groups, men’s groups and more! They also have other partnerships in the community teams may serve with, including work projects and children’s ministry at orphanages, evangelism in neighborhood outreach programs, minor work projects and other evangelistic events.
These teams will be smaller and will have a certain number of spots reserved for first-time team members.
Community outreach, childrens ministry, School of Ministry.
Our teams partner with multiple pastors around the country, visiting their churches, serving in their ministries and doing outreach activities alongside their church leaders. Nicaragua is among the poorest nations in Central America. It is comprised mainly of agricultural farms, small quaint rural communities, and historically preserved cities. Our teams focus on providing School of Ministry sessionsfor pastors and leaders of various churches in Nicaragua.
Teams may also help with children’s ministry, work projects, and encourage the local church. Ministry in Nicaragua is focused on sustaining long-term ministry and empowering the local church.
Medical outreaches and community outreach
Our teams partner with YWAM medical ships in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea (PNG) and possibly other existing ministries in PNG. Through our church plant in Townsville, Australia, God is positioning Water of Life to reach and minister to the country of PNG. We will partner with YWAM ships to support their medical outreaches as well as do community outreach where the medical ship travels. We hope to support YWAM ships with medical support, community outreach and evangelism. Healthcare professionals are needed on each outreach on the ship. Non-healthcare professionals are welcome too!
Children’s ministry, work projects and community outreach
Living World Ministries International (LWMI) serves the Karen refugees and the Thai people in villages across Thailand by providing ministry in refugee camps, schools, orphanages and children’s homes. LWMI places a high importance on evangelism to the Karen tribes located in the jungles of Thailand. They reach out to the Karen people through church planting and providing much needed medical services. LWMI has played a key part in humanitarian relief to the Karen refugees and the victims of the 2004 Tsunami. Our teams partner with LWMI to construct housing, build churches, teach the Bible, teach English and provide medical care to refugees and orphans.
Evangelism and youth camp
Our partner in Uganda is called His Sickles and led by Uche Izuora – a Nigerian Missionary who has been working in and among those from South Sudan since 2007. Because of the great unrest in South Sudan, two million South Sudanese refugees have poured into northern Uganda. Our teams befriend children, love on the poverty stricken and give assistance to those in need. This team will visit a small city in Uganda near the Congo and South Sudanese borders to do ministry among pastors, refugees and those severely traumatized from loss and horrific events. This trip will have a special focus to help run a youth camp for youth in the area. This trip will also have a time of ministering to “Muslim background believers” (MBBs) who in turn can share Jesus to people and places our teams could never reach.
