JOURNEY TO MEXICO
Serving in Mexico is an excellent first step if you have never been out of the country for reasons other than vacation or business. It can help make serving on an overseas team a little easier and open your heart and eyes to how others live. It is helpful to experience a different culture, gain new experiences and live in conditions unlike your own before serving on a longer Global Outreach team. Mexico trips also cost less and have a shorter time commitment.
Mexico teams are a fun and safe way for you and your family to serve and grow together. Mexico teams provide an opportunity to teach your children about serving others, being selfless and help them to develop a heart for outreach at a young age.
MINISTRY PARTNER INFORMATION:
Water of Life’s newest partner, Door of Faith Orphanage (DOFO), is located in La Mision (halfway between Rosarito and Ensenada) and is just 1 hour south of the San Diego/Tijuana border. DOFO has served orphan children and the surrounding community for over 50 years! They provide a loving home to over 100 children and are one of the largest orphanages in Baja California. In addition to caring for children, they facilitate building houses for families in need, serve other orphanages and partner with other local ministries to do evangelism and community outreach. Teams who visit DOFO may participate in a number of activities including those listed above and also children’s ministry, helping cook meals and small work projects.

DOFO Family Priorities:
- Family: To provide a family atmosphere for the children. They see the traditional family as the ideal model and want their children to experience all of the stability, love, and guidance that comes from that.
- Education: To prepare children for life after Door of Faith. They want children to have a strong education so when they move on from the orphanage they can be healthy and productive members of society.
- Community Service: To live Christ’s example of a life of service. They strive to love their neighbor as themselves, teaching children to give back through both word and action. By allowing and encouraging children to serve others, both on site and in their community, it brings restoration. Children are taught that they are NOT what’s been done to them; they are made in the image of God, designed for good works, and have a purpose in this life. Service to others brings healing.

INDIVIDUAL MINISTRY TEAMS
Many Water of Life ministries also partner with Global Outreach to send their own teams to our partners in Mexico. Each ministry group works with the Global Outreach Department to coordinate their trip and plan what type of ministry their team will do. A few of the ministries that serve regularly in Mexico are Pure, Activate, Positively Engaging, Water of Life Christian School and School of Ministry. Connect with each ministry to see when their specific trip dates are.
These teams fill up quickly, especially around Easter and Christmas. Please prepare to join as early as possible.
