Marriage Retreat 2017
- May 19, 2017 to May 21, 2017
- Time: All Day
Whether you are walking through challenges or simply looking for a tune up for your marriage, this weekend has been designed to re-ignite your love and allow God to take center stage in your relationship. Marriage is the most beautiful, yet mysterious, relationship of life. As you seek to align your relationship with God’s intentions, you will journey into a flow of blessing that will cause you to encounter and experience the transformative power of God’s love.
Keynote Speakers: Steve & Barbara Chua
Steve and Barbara Chua are the senior pastors of Life as ONE church in Claremont, CA, where they share a passion to see the love of God transform marriage and family relationships.
Steve's passion is to see Spirit-filled Kingdom ministry established in the local church. Through his humorous, enthusiastic and often, visual teaching style, Steve seeks to impart God's truth to see the heart of the believer transformed.
Barbara's primary calling is to nurture and care for her family, but she is delighted to partner together with Steve in leading Life as ONE. She has been amazed to discover that her experiences as a mother and homemaker have prepared her to build a spiritual home for the family of God. Recently, Barbara has discovered her gifting as a writer. She is writing a regular blog for the church website and developing a number of other projects.
SESSION 1: Your Marriage Matters to God (Biblical Keys to a Healthy Marriage)
Healthy families create a healthy society, and the heart of a great family is a healthy marriage. God created this sacred covenant to display His desire for intimacy with us. As your marriage is aligned with God’s design and purpose, you will discover a revelation of love that will bring blessing and favor to your family, and also to the world around you. This session will offer steps to open your hearts to the incredible intentions that God designed for your marriage.
SESSION 2: Keys to a Fruitful Marriage – Part 1: The Power of Home
Home was created to be a place of love and acceptance. It is meant to reflect an atmosphere of safety, comfort, rest and renewal. We are products of our environment, and home is supposed to be the most powerfully positive and transformative influence on your identity. What God intend home to look like? What atmosphere does your marriage create? Discover keys to creating a healthy environment that will produce great fruit in your marriage.
SESSION 3: Keys to a Fruitful Marriage – Part 2: Lost in Translation (The Communication Game)
Communication – or the lack of it – can be a huge stumbling block for your marriage. How we give and receive communication can cause unintended hurt and offense, keeping us from the intimacy and love we desire. We all know the importance of communication, but why do we experience so much misunderstanding and tension? How do you get on “the same page” as a couple? In this session you will learn practical tools to connecting, understanding and timing your communication to avoid unnecessary stress and conflict in your relationship.
Cost is $399 per couple and space is limited to 70 couples. Register early; this event will sell out. Registration deadline is April 20th, 2016. A non-refundable deposit of $100 accepted to hold spot. Payment must be made in full by April 23th.
