Small Group Time | 1st - 6th GradesLead Teacher: Coordinate all aspects of the classroom including a fun creative presentation of the lesson using provided curriculum. Must enjoy interacting with kids and instructing others. Commitment: One service every week or every other week. Class Assistant: Setup and lead kids in the pre-prepared craft or game activities using provided curriculum, to reinforce the lesson aim or idea; and possibly, pass out provided snacks. Discussion Leader: Facilitate meaningful, life-application discussion and prayer using provided curriculum and possibly, pass out provided snacks. Must enjoy interacting with kids. Large Group Production TeamEach team will present a lesson during 3 or 4 services one time per month. Memorization and rehearsal are required. Worship Leader: Using prerecorded music to lead children in songs that praise and glorify God and reenforce the lesson. An outgoing personality and a heart for worship are more important than vocal ability. Story Teller: Part of a team that will present lessons in a creative, engaging and dynamic way, using provided curriculum, props and costumes. Must be animated and able to project voice. Puppeteer: Interact with Story Teller using provided script to present the story in a creative, dynamic and engaging way. Will develop a puppet personality using voice characterization. Must be willing to 'get silly'. Skit Presenter: Enhance the story alone or with others using characterizations, and humorous or dynamic skits. Must be outgoing and able to project voice. Sets, Costumes and Props: Using your creative skills to help create an environment that reinforces the theme of each month, or help with special projects and events. Media Tech: Provide technical support for the large group production using Power Point, sound, lights, and or audio/video. Must have a 'knack' for electronics. NurseryTeacher/Caregiver: Using toy based curriculum; provide a loving, safe and healthy environment for babies and toddlers. This also includes diaper changing, rocking, playing on the floor, cuddling and soothing criers. Commitment: One service, every, or every other weekend. Song Leader: Rotate through toddler classes leading children in 2 or 3 songs. Commitment: One service, every, or every other week. Note: Length of commitment for preceding opportunities is 6 months. Service SupportChildren's Computerized Check-in: Assist families with computerized check-in at one of the kiosk locations. Must like computers or high tech gadgets and enjoy helping people. Commitment: Arrive 30 minutes before start of the service and remain until 30 minutes into the service. One service per week or every other week. Training is provided. Children's Hospitality: Welcome and greet first time facilities providing information on registration and programs. Must be outgoing and good people skills. Commitment: Arrive 30 minutes before the start of service one service per week or every other week. Children's Facility Supervisor / MIB: Support the Department Coordinators and classroom staff by taking attendance, collecting the offering, emptying the trash and providing light janitorial. Keep halls secure by monitoring traffic. Occasional need to oversee bathroom trips and direct visitors. Commitment: One service per week or every other week. Special Events Childcare: Provide a loving and safe environment for children whose parents are attending or serving at an event or program. Commitment: Days and hours vary. THis is a paid position. Behind The ScenesScript / Curriculum Writer: Work with others or alone to take current lesson stories and adapt them for creative presentation by puppeteers, story-tellers and skit presenters. Creativity is a must. Approx. 1-2 hours per week. Snack Coordinator: Shop for and coordinate a team to prep snacks for weekend classes. Approx. 2 hours a week. Activity Coordinator: Coordinate a team that preps games + activities that are outlined in the lesson books for weekend classes. Approx. 2 hours a week. Activity Prep: Preps games + activities for weekend classes. Approx. 2 hours a week. Classroom Setup: Setup activities for classrooms. Approx. 2 hours per week, Friday nights or Saturday afternoons. Facility Setup Crew: Rearrange classroom furniture to transition from school to church environment. One saturday per month from 2:00p to 3:30p. Office Help: Support the Empowered Kids staff by doing a variety of tasks. Midweek ProgramElementary Power Up Small Group Leader: Help Kids grow spiritually as you teach them your hobby or passion. Example: Model building, art, puppets, dance, martial arts, cooking, choir, drama, gymnastics, science, woodwork, scrapbooking, crate, etc. Preschool Power Up Small Group Leader: Setup and lead kids in a craft, game, or snack rotation using provided curriculum. Preschool Power Up Large Group Leader: Present the bible study using puppets and/or drama. Note: Length of commitment for the preceding runs from September-May in 10 to 12 week cycles with 1 to 4 week breaks in between. Fill out our Empowered Kids Adult Application to get started. |
